The resources in the portal are selected and curated by librarians and geospatial specialists at twelve research institutions in the Big Ten Academic Alliance. The U.S. Geological Survey maintains national digital data bases of water-use information. The data are collected and compiled every 5 years for each State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Includes data to the county level back to 1985.
