For books written BY types of people, first identify the subject heading used for that class of person or ethnic group, then add subject subdivision terms to narrow your search.

• Dissenters, religious (LCSH)

• Freedom of religion (LCSH)

• Indian mythology--North America (LCSH)

• Indians of North America--Religion (LCSH)

• Jews United States (LCSH)

• Muslims (LCSH)

• Religious minorities (LCSH)

• Religious tolerance (LCSH)

For autobiographies and memoirs, use the subject subdivision term Biography (LCSH). 

For primary sources try these subject subdivision terms to find first hand accounts by historically marginalized voices:

• Sources (combine with historical topics e.g. Muslims Sources)

• Personal narratives (combine with events and wars, e.g. Arab Israeli Conflict Personal narratives)

• Correspondence (combine with names of individuals, classes of people, and ethnic groups, e.g. Jews Correspondence)

• Diaries (combine with names of individuals, classes of people, and ethnic groups, e.g.  Mormon women Diaries)

• Interviews (combine with names of individuals, classes of people, and ethnic groups, e.g. Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) Interviews)
