The mission of the CSB+SJU Young Alum Committee of CSB+SJU is to bridge and foster the life-long relationship between the young alums (defined as 10 years or less out of college) and their alma maters. Inspired by the Benedictine values and the missions of CSB and SJU: they connect, guide, and evolve to meet the needs of young Bennies and Johnnies.
Whether you were highly involved in student clubs and volunteerism in college or not...
this is something you can pick up as a recent graduate!
From opportunities specific to CSB+SJU alums, to young professional groups, to volunteer opportunities, this guide is a great place to start.
Find volunteer opportunities in Minnesota:
The Bennie Mentor Program was created by members of the CSB Alumnae Board to foster an exchange of ideas, friendship, and expertise between alumnae, young and old. Participants enjoy opportunities to build their personal and professional networks through informal and formal exchanges with other Bennies.
This might be a good fit for you if you are looking to explore growth areas such as career change/advancement, friendship, spirituality, volunteering, leadership, budgeting, and work/life balance. The alumnae who are on board to mentor are looking to share their experiences and support in areas such as career development, diversity, spirituality, family/parenting/motherhood, finances, first-gen experiences, and more. They bring experience in areas such as advertising/PR/marketing, cultural integration, global business, grant writing, health services, human resources, law, medicine... the list goes on!
Young Professional Groups are specifically for those who are new to their career or industry, such as recent college grads! They often offer opportunities for networking, volunteer and community outreach, building relationships, and professional development.
