Research logs are helpful for keeping track of searches that you've tried and how successful they were. Keeping track of the search terms you use, the database or source you searched in, the number of results, and an evaluation of the relevance of the results can help you determine where else you should look and whether you need to tweak any of your search terms to get better results.

Run into a paywall for an article you found on Google Scholar? DO NOT PAY FOR IT.
We can often get articles for free from other libraries through interlibrary loan. You can also request books, DVDs, and all kinds of other media.
LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that you can use when searching outside of library databases (e.g. Google, Google Scholar, Wikipedia). When you have LibKey Nomad installed, it will scan the page you're on for citations and search the library catalog for you. If we have access to an article, it will either give you a PDF download link or link to our library catalog record for that article for access options, including a button for requesting an article through interlibrary loan.
