What is CSB+SJU Numbers Night?

Numbers Night is career fair in which 60+ organizations (and many alums!) visit campus - usually Guild Hall at Saint John's University - to meet with students. Numbers Night is a long-standing tradition and has a reputation of resulting in job or internship offers.

This year, it is on Wednesday, September 17th!

How To: Research a Company for a Job Interview, Career Fair, and More

Set yourself apart from your competitors, and use the library's databases and/or Google to research the company you're interviewing with! Some things to keep in mind:

  • Basic company information
    • Who's in charge?
    • What industry is the company in and how relevant are they?
    • How many employees does the company have?
  • Values & Reputation
    • What's the company's mission?
    • Corporate values?
    • How are they doing financially?
  • Current activity/newsworthy items
    • Are they working on anything new? Interesting? Risky?
    • Has anyone in leadership been in the news?
  • Strategic Insight
    • What can you infer about the revenue model/target customer? Marketing/sales/growth strategy? Competitors?

Most importantly... why do you care? What is important to you in your future employer?
