- Water Use in the United States (USGS)The U.S. Geological Survey maintains national digital data bases of water-use information. The data are collected and compiled every 5 years for each State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Includes data to the county level back to 1985.
