Configure CSB and SJU Email to Android Device

Configure Email on Android

Note: Steps vary based on Android version.

  • From the list of applications installed on your device, use Gmail app to configure your CSB and SJU email.
  • If prompted to choose a mail client, tap Exchange.
  • Use the following information to configure your account: 
    • Email address: username@csbsju.edu where username = your network username
    • Domain\Username: username@csbsju.edu where username = your network username
      • If Domain and Username are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty, and type your full email address (e.g. username@csbsju.edu) in the Username box.
    • Server: outlook.office365.com
    • Use SSL: Yes
    • Use client certificate: No
    • ActiveSync will automatically begin synchronizing. It may take a while to complete depending on the size of your email messages, attachments, and calendar.

Configure Outlook on Android

To use Outlook on your Android device, you first need to install Outlook Click here for instructions on installing Microsoft Office for Android Device.

  • Tap Outlook.
  • Tap Add An Account.
  • Tap Exchange.
  • Enter the following:
    • Email: username@csbsju.edu where username = your network username
    • Password: <
    • Description: type a description for the account (e.g. CSBSJU).
  • Tap Go or Done.
  • You may be prompted to activate security features such as device encryption and an unlock PIN before you can complete setup. See Mobile Security Policy for more information.

Configure CSB and SJU Email on iPhone, iPod, or iPad

Configure Mail App

To configure the default Mail app on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad, follow the steps below.

iOS 11.x or higher:

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Mail.
  • Tap Add Account.
  • Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  • Fill in the following fields:
  • User Name: Enter the full email address if asked for the user name in the manual setup.
  • Tap Next.
  • Tap Sign In.
  • Type in your password when prompted and tap Sign in.
  • From the list of mailbox items (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes), choose the items you want to sync on your device by toggling them on or off.
  • Tap Save.
  • If you are prompted to allow access to your mailbox, tap Accept.
  • Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
  • Employees: If you do not have a passcode set on the device, you will be prompted to set one before your mail will begin downloading. See Mobile Security Policy for more information.

Configure Outlook App

To use Outlook on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad, you first need to install Outlook. Click here for installing Microsoft Office on your iOS.

  • Tap Outlook.
  • Tap Add An Account.
  • Tap Exchange.
  • Enter the following:
    • Email: username@csbsju.edu where username = your network username
    • Enter your network password. 
    • Description: type a description for the account (e.g. CSBSJU).
  • Tap Go.
